Drink fruity cocktails to cool off on a hot day
Do you cringe when you think of sipping a bitter martini on the couch? Are old-fashioned too stiff for you?
We don’t care about your reasons for choosing fruitier cocktails over classic cocktails. We can help. GoPuff can deliver the liquor and supplies needed to start your bartending business.
Are you unsure which fruity beverage to try? These alcoholic drink recipes will help you choose the right summer cocktail. They are so delicious and flavorful that you won’t even know there is alcohol. We recommend small umbrellas, even though they aren’t required.
Mai Tai
This classic “tiki” drink is a great way to relax and have fun. Add 1 1/2 ounces of white Rum to a shaker. Stir the ingredients together, and then strain the drink onto the ice. Add one-half ounce dark rum to the top. Garnish with a lime wheel or mint sprig.
Hurricane
This iconic NOLA drink will transport you to New Orleans. Mix 2 ounces light Rum with 2 ounces dark Rum. Add 1 ounce of orange juice, 1 ounce of passion fruit juice, 12 ounces of lime juice, 14 ounces of simple syrup and 12 ounces of grenadine. Strain the mixture over ice into a hurricane glass. Add an orange slice and maraschino cherries to the glass.
Pina Colada
There are many fruity cocktails recipes, but which one is your favorite? Blend 1 1/2 cups of ice, 12 cups of frozen pineapple, 2 ounces of Coco Lopez coconut cream, 2 1/2 ounces of white Rum and 14-ounce dark Rum in a blender to create this tropical oasis. Serve with a fresh pineapple wedge.
Classic Mojito
Is there anything more refreshing than lime, mint, and seltzer? Make a classic mojito by combining 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar with 4 mint leaves in a tall glass. Mix in ice, 2 ounces white rum and 3 ounces lime juice. Stir. Add club soda to the glass. If you wish, you can add a few drops of Angostura bitters. Garnish with lime.
Strawberry Margarita
Everyone loves a good margarita. But, a frozen strawberry version is better for hot days. Make a shared-sized batch by adding 1 pound of frozen strawberries, 3 cups of tequila and 12 cups of lime juice, 14 cups of Cointreau and 1/3 cup of honey to a blender. Before serving, garnish your glasses with salt or lime.
Tequila Sunrise
This beautiful ombre drink is reminiscent of a bright sunrise, and it’s so delicious you won’t even want to stop drinking it. Pour 4 ounces of orange juice and 2 tablespoons of tequila into a glass. Stir to combine. Add half an ounce of grenadine, and allow it to sink to the bottom. Add orange or maraschino cherries to the top.
Sex on the Beach
This classic cocktail is known for its cheeky name and peachy flavor. Pour 2 ounces vodka, 1 cup of peach syrups, 2 ounces grapefruit juice or orange juice and 2 ounces cranberry juice into a hurricane glass. Stir over ice. Add an orange wedge.
Singapore Sling
This famous gin cocktail should be served in tiki-style glasses, but any glass will work. Combine 1 1/2 ounce gin with 1 ounce Benedictine Liqueur and 1-ounce cherry liqueur. Add one-quarter cup of simple syrup, and then strain the mixture into a glass. Add 2 ounces of club soda to the glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge or cocktail cherry.
Fuzzy Navel
A fuzzy navel hits all the right notes when it comes to sweet drinks. This drink is one-third orange juice and one-third peach schnapps. Combine the ingredients in a glass with ice. Stir to mix.
White Sangria
White sangria is the best way to drink wine every day (not that you should have to excuse yourself from drinking wine every day). Combine one-half cup peach schnapps with one-half cup of cognac, one-quarter cup white sugar, four sliced oranges and two slices of mangoes. Refrigerate the mixture in a large container for at least a few hours. Add four bottles of chilled dry white wines and one liter of cold ginger ale. You can add other fruits and ice to keep it chilled.
