This Pomegranate Ginger Champagne was originally made for New Year’s Eve. I also made mocktail versions for my kids. This sparkling drink is perfect for many festive occasions, including Valentine’s Day and the Academy Awards. Did I mention that there is a golden sugared rim ?!?!?? Sparkle sugar is my favourite new find. You could garnish a glass of plain cranberry juice in gold sparkle sugar to instantly make it more glamorous. You don’t need to make it special for Valentine’s Day or New Year’s Eve. When garnishing any glass with the fruit of any kind, you must ensure that the fruit can sit on the rim. This is something I do instinctively as a bartender (now mom). When a friend tried to put a lime wedge on a glass, I realized that not everyone thinks about making that extra cut.

HOW TO MAKE POMEGRANATE GINGER CHAMPAGNE or MOCKTAIL

INGREDIENTS:

  • Sparkling CideCider is used to make a non-alcoholic mocktail with Champagne or Prosecco.
  • Pomegranate Seeds
  • Pomegranate Juice (I used Trader Joe’s Sparkling Pomegranate Juice).
  • Ginger Beer
  • Lime
  • Gold Sparkling Sugar

DIRECTIONS:

  1. You will first need to sugar the rim of the glass by running a lime through it and then dip it in a bowl or plate with the gold sugar.
  2. Place a few pomegranate seeds in the Champagne Flute. I skipped this step to make mocktails so that I could distinguish between alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
  3. The glass should be filled with sparkling cideCiderchampagne.
  4. Mix the pomegranate juice.
  5. Add a splash of ginger ale to finish.
